RESEARCHING
We are building a research base to understand and illuminate the concept of the Essential Qualities
We want to embrace, synthesise and distil existing research wherever possible and only conduct new research to fill gaps
All of our research needs to be applicable and impactful in practice which means we expect much of it to be international in scope and long-term
Key questions we aim to answer are:
Value
- How do the Essential Qualities impact personal, social, cultural, economic and environmental wellbeing?
Theoretical understanding
- How do the Essential Qualities develop in humans (from the perspectives of psychology, neuroscience, social science, etc)?
- How do external factors (such as parents, teachers and ambient educators) affect the development of the Essential Qualities?
Practical understanding
- How best should the development of the Essential Qualities be educated by parents, teachers and others?
- How should our findings be applied in order to maximise impact?
FINDING PRACTICES
We are searching for real-world practices that develop the Essential Qualities safely and effectively
We aim to understand what impact they have, why they work and how scalable they are
MAXIMISING ADOPTION
We aim to promote this research and practice in order to put the Essential Qualities at the heart of everyone's learning experience - everywhere
We aim to do this by:
- Building an international network of experts who understand the theory and practice of developing the Essential Qualities
- Targeting key individuals who can influence the widespread adoption of practices
- Broadcasting research and practice in innovative, engaging and impactful ways
